Northwind Logistics
immediateCold-chain freight across the Baltics since 2014.
Northwind Logistics moves temperature-controlled freight across the Baltic Sea region from our home port in Tallinn.
We specialise in moving food, pharmaceuticals, and biotech samples between Helsinki, Riga, Vilnius, Gdańsk, and Hamburg.
Every shipment is tracked by a per-pallet sensor logging temperature, humidity, and door events at 30-second intervals.
About
immediateA family-run carrier, now in its second generation.
Northwind Logistics was founded in 2014 in Tallinn, Estonia, by Jaan Kütt and Henrik Lillevars, two former Port of Muuga reefer operators.
What began as four trucks running cheese between Tallinn and Helsinki is now the largest privately held cold-chain operator in the eastern Baltic.
We remain employee-owned: every full-time driver and dispatcher holds equity through the Northwind Worker Trust, set up in our second year of operation.

immediateSimple per-pallet rates, no fuel surcharge surprises.
Standard pallet shipping starts at €47 per pallet for routes under 800 km, with a flat €0.18 per pallet-kilometre beyond that.

Volume customers shipping more than 200 pallets per month qualify for our Cold Chain Partner tier, which locks rates for a calendar year.

Team
immediateOperators, not consultants.
Our CEO is Marta Käärik, appointed in 2021, who previously ran cold-chain operations at Tallink Logistics for eleven years.
The leadership team is split between Tallinn (operations, fleet, IT) and Riga (customer success, finance), with quarterly all-hands rotations through the Helsinki hub.
Every member of the executive team is required to spend two weeks per year riding along with a driver, and the rule has held since the company was founded.
